During the symposium, students freely expressed their confusions and suggestions regarding curriculum setup, professional education, academic counseling, career planning, international exchanges and campus life since enrollment. Teachers carefully listened to and recorded students' specific needs in areas such as course enrollment, interpretation of further study and employment policies, class construction and student work. Addressing the issue of professional cognition, Dean Qi Yudong noted that students should develop a systematic understanding of their majors, lay a solid professional foundation, and clarify their future directions for employment and further study. In response to questions about curriculum setup, Teacher Jiang Jie stated that the School has actively constructed a professional curriculum system with both breadth and depth, and some courses are co-taught by multiple outstanding teachers to help broaden students' horizons. Teacher Wang Jun answered each question raised by students concerning class construction and academic counseling, and encouraged students to develop information retrieval capabilities, take the initiative to search for notices and information on the School's website, and actively participate in various activities to enhance their comprehensive abilities. Teacher Chang Xinyang patiently addressed the doubts and questions of students aspiring to join the Communist Youth League, and explained the comprehensive evaluation system that students care about.

Secretary Sun Zhijun delivered a concluding speech. He reminded students to attach importance to "accumulation" in their daily study, lay a solid foundation for steady progress, and firmly grasp general knowledge and professional disciplinary knowledge. He encouraged students to make full use of the high-quality curriculum resources of Beijing Normal University according to their interests and hobbies to enrich their university life. He also hoped that the class representatives would continue to play a good role as a bridge and link, promptly convey the spirit of the symposium, and respond to students' demands.

This "Face-to-Face with the Dean and Party Secretary" Freshmen Symposium allowed class representatives to share various collected issues and actively discuss solutions with teachers. It not only enabled students to express their confusions and demands and resolve their difficulties, but also helped the School's teachers to more accurately grasp the real needs of students, clarifying the direction for subsequent work. The School will continue to hold representative symposia covering different student groups in the future, helping students strengthen their confidence in growth and achieve all-round development.
