To implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on education, fully fulfill the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, effectively improve students' practical abilities, and enhance the awareness of serving the local social and economic development, BNUBS held a series of activities of "Practicing by Rooting in the Motherland" during the summer vacation. More than a hundred students from the School practiced the spirit of the school motto "Learn, so as to instruct others; Act, to serve as example to all", and adhered to the school mission of Promoting business and culture to serve the nation and the world by creating knowledge and developing talents". Under the leadership and guidance of Wang Jun, the Associate Secretary of the School's Party committee, Professor Zhou Jianghua from the Department of Digital Economy and Management, Associate Professor Wang Haicheng from the Department of International Economics and Trade, Dr. Chen Su from the Department of Finance, double-duty counselors Li Lun and Xu Kaige, and student affairs assistant Kang Haoran, they went to many provinces such as Beijing, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, and Ningxia. They sought truth in walking and grew their abilities in practice, sprinkling the sweat of their youth on the land of the motherland, and interpreting the profound connotation of "unity of knowledge and action" with practical actions.

Tracing the Red Bloodline and Passing on the Revolutionary Torch

Only by following the footsteps of history can we clarify the future direction. This social practice placed red research and learning in an important position, guiding students to draw wisdom and strength from the century-old history of the Communist Party of China.

In Zunyi, Guizhou, the "Zunyi Teachers' Retracing" practice team walked into Maotai Ferry, the Zunyi Red Army Martyrs' Cemetery, the Zunyi Conference Site Group, and the Gouba Conference Site, carefully listened to the red history of the Red Army's third crossing of the Chishui River and the heroic deeds of the Red Army martyrs who sacrificed heroically for the revolution, and vividly felt the historical inevitability of the great turning point of the Chinese revolution at a critical moment. The students deeply realized that the ideological line of "seeking truth from facts" is the fundamental magic weapon to overcome all difficulties and obstacles.

In Quanzhou, Fujian, the "Minnan Red Rhyme" practice team delved deep into the successful code of the "Jinjiang Experience". They walked into the Jinjiang Experience Museum and systematically studied the theoretical essence of the "Jinjiang Experience". They visited private enterprise clusters, and in Heng'an Group, Panpan Group, Kelme Sports Goods Co., Ltd., and the Seven Wolves Chinese Men's Clothing Museum, they witnessed with their own eyes how the spirit of being bold in fighting and innovating turned a poor county into an economic strong city.

In Anji, Zhejiang, the "Green Forest Ji Xing" practice team deeply studied the "Two Mountains" concept and experienced the "Thousands of Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Improvement" project. In the Zhejiang "Thousands of Villages Demonstration and Ten Thousand Villages Improvement" (Yucun) Exhibition Hall, the team members directly felt the transformation process of Yucun from a mine economy of "relying on the mountains to eat the mountains" to an ecological economy of "nurturing the mountains and enriching the mountains", and deeply understood the development philosophy of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". The team members realized that the "Two Mountains" concept is not only a slogan, but also requires the spirit of hard work and keeping up with the times to actively practice it.

From the great turning point of the Zunyi Conference to the summary and development of the "Jinjiang Experience", and then to the in-depth practice of the "Two Mountains" concept, the students clearly saw a coherent main line of thought: whether in the revolutionary war era or the period of peaceful construction, basing on the national conditions, respecting practice, being brave in innovation, and working together have always been the core driving forces for promoting the development of the cause. This profound insight into the historical laws is a vivid manifestation of "acting as a model for the world" - learning from history and taking on the responsibility for the country.

Visiting the Enterprises of the Times and Observing the Pulse of Development

Combining theoretical knowledge with industrial practice is the only way for the students of economics and management to temper their professional qualities. Multiple practice teams went deep into the front line of the most dynamic enterprises in the Chinese economy to observe the formation and development of new productive forces at close range.

The "Yuchuan Huilin" practice team walked into the Digital Industrial Park in Yongchuan, Chongqing. In the Cloud Valley Exhibition Hall of the industrial park, they learned about the innovative operation mode of the big data industrial park, felt the craftsmanship spirit of the national specialized and sophisticated "little giant" Chongqing Pangu Power Technology Co., Ltd., and explored the path of how digital technology empowers the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry in digital enterprises such as Dawa Technology Co., Ltd. in the Yongchuan Science and Technology Studio, Jiuzhi Cultural Media Co., Ltd., iQIYI (Yongchuan) Cultural and Creative Industrial Park, Tongcheng Network Technology Co., Ltd., and Chuanliu Buxi Digital Technology (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. In the cutting-edge application scenarios of big data, artificial intelligence, and industrial Internet, the team members directly felt how digital technology empowers traditional industries and reshapes the economic pattern.

The "Green Forest Ji Xing" practice team walked into the leading enterprise Henglin Home Furnishing Co., Ltd. in the "Hometown of Chinese Chairs", visited the home product exhibition hall in the exhibition building and the latest marketing product exhibition area in the R & D center, and had interviews with the leaders and staff of the enterprise's planning department, production department, R & D department, ESG department, marketing department, cross-border e-commerce department, finance department, and human resources management department, and deeply discussed how traditional manufacturing can stand out in the global competition through technological innovation, brand going global, and lean management.

The "Zunyi Teachers' Retracing" practice team walked into China Kweichow Moutai Distillery (Group) Co., Ltd. to explore how traditional manufacturing can achieve transformation and upgrading through innovation-driven and fulfill the social and economic responsibilities of large state-owned enterprises. Through the research on brand marketing, production system, and social responsibility, the team members had a deeper understanding of the two-wheel drive strategy of "cultural going global" and "digital empowerment", the whole-chain quality control system covering "from the field to the table", the intelligent production management system adapting to the digital wave, and the four iterations of the mechanism from industry feeding agriculture to deepening the "town-level 1+1+1" assistance mechanism.

These vivid cases made the economic and management theoretical models learned in the classroom become three-dimensional and profound. The students actively discussed the development strategy with the enterprise executives and offered suggestions for the challenges faced by the enterprises. This is exactly the process of transforming what is "learned" into the ability of "teaching" to serve society and guide practice, and it is the specific practice of "learning to be a teacher of men" in the business field.

Spreading the Way of Governing the Country and Lighting the Lamp in the Hearts of Students

As a school of economics and management rooted in a century-old normal university, serving education and giving back to society is its inherent mission. Multiple practice teams carried forward and practiced the spirit of educators in the new era, bringing professional financial knowledge into primary and secondary school classrooms and sowing the seeds of hope.

As one of the practical research series activities of the "Four Qualities" Good Teacher Alumni Award Program, the "Ningju Beishi Qing, Four Qualities Helan Xing" practice team went to Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Through multiple symposiums, in-depth individual interviews, classroom observations, and club visits, from the perspectives of school leaders, colleagues, students, and parents, they systematically sorted out the vivid practice of Teacher Ma Cuiling from the Third Middle School of Shizuishan City as the gold medal winner of the "Four Qualities" Good Teacher Award Program. The team members recorded Teacher Ma's 34-year educational life with cameras and pens, measured the spiritual height of the teacher with their footsteps and hearts, and were determined to take the "Four Qualities" good teacher as an example and strive to grow into top-notch innovative talents with "Four Qualities" literacy.

The "Summer Hebei Trip" practice team, the "Northern Sichuan Inspirational Camp" practice team, and the "Minnan Red Rhyme" practice team went to Yanshan Middle School in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, Zhaojia Primary School in Jintang County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, and the summer nursery class of the Huian County Trade Union in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province respectively to carry out teaching activities. The team members put the economic management professional knowledge into educational practice, carefully designed a series of characteristic courses of "financial quotient enlightenment" and "economic popularization", and used easy-to-understand language and vivid games to lead the children to understand basic economic concepts, think about economic phenomena in life, and guide the children to establish correct views on wealth and values.

This is not only a useful supplement to basic education, but also the adherence and inheritance of the "normal" nature of Beijing Normal University by the students of economics and management. Through the most direct way of teaching and educating people, the students of economics and management deeply felt the responsibility and glory of "learning to be a teacher", and sowed the seeds of professionalism on a broader land, lighting the dream lamps in the hearts of more children.

Going to the Grassroots Front Line and Understanding the Vicissitudes of People's Lives

The research end of economics is people's livelihood and well-being, and the core of public management practice is to serve the people. Going deep into the grassroots and the masses is the key to understanding the context of Chinese social governance.

As one of the "Star " employment internship series activities of the Career Development and Employment Guidance Center of the School Party Committee's Student Affairs Department, the "Yilin Lixing" practice team was based on grassroots post practice, went deep into the teaching and research office of the Education Bureau, the Party Committee Office, and the Youth League Committee Office and other departments to carry out government work and volunteer services, and participated in the Party building to help agriculture activities in Aiguo Village and other grassroots governance practice activities, deepening the understanding of "people-centered" in serving the people and strengthening the sense of responsibility.

More than 10 students from the School were selected for the School's 2025 "Development・Navigation" college student government post practice program, and went to the Dongcheng District Development and Reform Commission, the Finance Bureau, the Commerce Bureau, the Cultural Development Promotion Center, the Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision in Beijing, the Xidan Street Office of the Xicheng District People's Government in Beijing, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee in Fujian, and the Huangqiao Street Office of the Xiangcheng District People's Government in Suzhou, Jiangsu and other government agencies and public institutions to carry out government practice. In the trivial and complex grassroots affairs, they learned how to combine macro policies with local realities, and deeply felt the temperature of people's livelihood behind each decision.

From all over the country to the capital Beijing, different positions gave the students a more comprehensive and profound understanding of "Promoting the world and helping the people": the real "Promoting the world" must be rooted in the deep care for the "people"; the effective "helping the people" requires a scientific, practical, and in-depth front-line "world" strategy. This spirit of taking root in the people and serving and dedicating is exactly the highest realm of "acting as a model for the world" and the character that the future pillars of the country must possess.

Reading thousands of books and traveling thousands of miles. This summer social practice is a vivid epitome of the talent training system of the Business School of Beijing Normal University, and it is a walking "big ideological and political course". In the melting pot of practice, the students tempered their theoretical knowledge into the ability to solve practical problems, and integrated their personal ideals into the great cause of national development. They returned from all over the country with a sense of awe for history, an insight into the times, a sincere love for education, and a concern for people's livelihood. This precious experience will surely inspire them to go further and more solidly on the road of "governing the world and helping the people, unity of knowledge and action", and contribute their youthful strength to the construction of a strong country and the great rejuvenation of the nation.
