BNUBS Held 2025 Autumn Semester Work Meeting

On the morning of September 2, 2025, BNUBS convened the new semester work meeting in Room 1722 of the Back Main Building. At the meeting, the spirit of the university’s summer cadre meeting was conveyed and studied, and discussions and arrangements were made for the key tasks of this semester. Members of the School’s Party and administrative leadership team, heads of various departments, and secretaries of Party branches attended the meeting, which was presided over by Dean Qi Yudong.

First, Sun Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, conveyed the spirit of the university’s summer cadre meeting and highlighted the overall goals and key tasks of the university’s deepening comprehensive reform. He pointed out that the School must, on the basis of in-depth understanding of the university’s comprehensive reform goals and tasks, focus on key issues and proactively plan to promote the high-quality development of the School. Specifically, the school should:

1. Adhere to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and plan to build a new system for ideological and political education;

2. Center on the goal of cultivating top-tier innovative talents, and improve the School’s research-oriented, innovative, internationalized, and industry-education integrated talent cultivation system covering all levels and types;

3. Focus on implementing the outstanding scientific research strategy, innovate the form of scientific research organization, strengthen the construction of research teams, create landmark academic achievements, and enhance the ability to solve major issues in national economic and social development;

4. Further improve the support system for the development of the faculty team and establish a system and mechanism for the continuous emergence of high-level talents;

5. Adhere to the principle of integrating affairs and finance and scientifically plan the annual key projects and investment directions;

6. Align with the development direction of national emerging industries and proactively plan the layout of urgently needed disciplines and emerging disciplines;

7. Guided by the goal of building first-class disciplines, formulate a high-quality 14th Five-Year Plan for the school’s development.

In addition, the School will continue to enhance the digitalization level of management and adjust and optimize office spaces in the new semester.

Jiang Jie, Associate Dean of the School, delivered a speech focusing on talent cultivation and curriculum construction. She proposed that the School will leverage artificial intelligence technology to drive innovation in classroom teaching methods and actively develop a number of digital and intelligent characteristic courses. At the same time, it will launch a pilot reform of the talent cultivation evaluation system to promote the construction of an evaluation system oriented toward the cultivation of top-tier innovative talents. Furthermore, the School will continue to deepen the construction of the curriculum-based ideological and political education system, and effectively improve the effectiveness of education and teaching through initiatives such as building demonstration courses, enriching ideological and political practices, and strengthening teacher capacity training.

Hu Conghui, Associate Dean of the School, reported on the School’s international development work. He introduced the current progress of the EQUIS certification preparation and the submission of phased materials for AACSB. He stated that in the next phase, the School will focus on promoting joint education cooperation with universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and other countries to further expand international educational resources. Meanwhile, the School has fully launched the enrollment promotion work for international students and plans to rely on the Belt and Road cooperation network to continuously enhance the School’s international influence and recognition.

Zhou Jianghua, Assistant Dean of the School, introduced the work related to MBA education. He said that the MBA Center will continue to carry out enrollment promotion through activities such as the “π Plan and You Are So Excellent”. In terms of the curriculum system, the center will accelerate the update of training programs and the construction of modular courses, strengthen the practical orientation, and optimize the teaching content and structure. In addition, the center is planning to organize a centralized proposal defense for MBA students’ graduation theses in October to ensure the quality of talent cultivation in MBA education.

At the meeting, heads of various departments and secretaries of Party branches delivered speeches in turn. They exchanged key work plans of their respective units regarding Party building and ideological and political work, curriculum reform, student cultivation, and scientific research organization, introduced the progress of teaching and scientific research in their departments, and discussed future directions in combination with cutting-edge fields, providing important ideas for the overall work layout of the School.

Finally, Qi Yudong made a concluding speech. He emphasized that the School must focus on the main line of high-quality development, actively respond to national strategies and university arrangements, take proactive actions, uphold fundamental principles while making innovations, and effectively promote the key tasks of the new semester. Specifically, the school should:

1.Focus on emerging disciplinary directions, conduct forward-looking research in line with major national needs, and prudently evaluate the necessity and feasibility of setting up relevant majors;

2.Consolidate the foundation of talent cultivation, comprehensively promote the revision of training programs and the optimization of curriculum teaching, and continuously improve the quality of education;

3.Strengthen organizational guarantees, optimize management processes, and enhance the level of administrative services.

He expressed the hope that all faculty and staff of the School will maintain the momentum for reform and a down-to-earth work style, and work together to push the school’s development to a new level.
